Opp. Petrol Pump, Rishikesh-Badrinath Road, Shivpuri Village, Tehri Garhwal - Uttarakhand (249192)
Bull’s Retreat is an 18-room forest resort named after our founder and mentor Col. Narinder ‘Bull’ Kumar, one of India's most celebrated mountain climbers, who first planted India’s flag on the Siachen Glacier in 1981.
Situated on the main Rishikesh-Badrinath highway, when you arrive at Bull's Retreat, the wide open spaces, the lush green grass, and the exotic flowers just take your breath away! Pink Bougainvillea line the edge of the resort, shutting the world out. Our architects built around all the trees on the property, so many of them are well over 100 years old.
Wi-Fi connection is available on the front lawns - the perfect place to catch up with the world - but only if you feel like it. Leading off from the landscaped garden is a gentle nature walk. A clear path - often used by the nomads, leads straight to the Ganga River. We often organize an evening tea by the river-side, or cool lemonade if you feel like it.
The resort is built on the edge of the reserve forest of the Bhagirathi Circle. Many years ago, when this was just “MHE’s Jungle Camp", a rogue elephant would make its way to where the trampoline is now and just sit there. Today, a family of monkeys will put up a special performance just for you, while you enjoy your tea in the front lawns!
We're just a 30-min drive from Rishikesh - close enough to visit the Ganga Aarti every day if you feel like it, but far enough to be away from the crowds and pollution of the main town. Bull's Retreat is Col. Narinder Bull Kumar’s home away from home, his sanctuary and haven, and he's happy to share it with the rest of the world!
All our rooms are air-conditioned with attached bath, hot running water and satellite TV - all the comforts of a holiday in the hills. While the Standard and Executive Rooms are perfect for a couple or a small family, both the Deluxe and Super Deluxe allow for an extra bed, giving you that much-needed space. Our Forest Huts are warm and cozy and if the slightly out of the ordinary appeals to you, this is where you’d want to stay! All the rooms are named after mountain peaks or rivers that Col. Bull Kumar has encountered in his distinguished military career.
